Cultures CIC pilot housing project was a huge success last year. We used this opportunity to develop the skills of local people by having them work alongside skilled craftsmen and women redesigning and refurbishing the properties. In addition to developing local skills, the project focuses on prospective tenants being part of the primary workforce refurbishing the properties, and aims to support the workforce in developing the requisite skills and knowledge that will enable them become economically independent, develop emotional well-being or new skills.
The work has now finished and tenants have moved in. Those that volunteered on the project were given the chance to apply for the apartments and we are glad to say that a few were successful
If any members of the public would like to make donations of furniture, furnishings e.g. curtains, bedding, rugs etc ….., kitchen electrical items, cutlery and cookware, dinnerware and other items for the time when we have the flats ready for the prospective tenants, we would gracefully accept any usable items.
Community projects can’t happen without the generosity of the public so we ask that you help in any way that you can and we can even collect any items if necessary.
