Identity: Who are you?
"I don't like to lose-at anything... Yet I've grown most not from victories, but setbacks. If winning is God's reward, then losing is how he teaches us. I don't like to lose-at anything... “One day our descendants will think it incredible that we paid so much attention to things like the amount of melanin in our skin or the shape of our eyes or our gender instead of the unique identities of each of us as complex human beings.”
—Franklin Thomas, activist, philanthropist, and former president of the Ford Foundation
“We all have dreams. In order to make dreams come into reality, it takes an awful lot of determination, dedication, self-discipline and effort.” —Jesse Owens, world record-setting Olympic athlete
Who are you?
Self-identity is so important. Why? Because it is the limits we set for ourselves. Have hopes, dreams, aspirations but never settle for anything other than your best because of a perceived identity. Your identity is being the best you can be. Never forget who you are or where you come from because they contribute to who you are but it is not all of who are. You can be so much more.
