Taste of Africa 2016

For 13 years Taste of Africa events have been celebrating Black History Month in Tees Valley, recognizing, rewarding and promoting contributions of individuals and organisations to community cohesion, economic and social well being.  This years event was even bigger.  With such amazing peformances from Hannabiel and Yilis from Harambee Pasadia, Nzinga Dance Troupe, dancers from The Ugandan Community, X Factor Finalists Keira Weathers and Bre Musiq as well as Stockton Riverside College Performing Arts Students.  Once again we had stalls selling African clothing and jewellry, selling tradition African dishes that had huge queue's forming and a chance to ease that sweet craving with a Victorian Sweet Kitchen selling old fashioned sweet treats.

We want to take this opportunity to say a very big thank you to all the organisations and people who supported and helped with Taste of Africa 2016, without your support events like this would not be able to happen.  If you would like to volunteer or your organisation would be interested in taking part in next years event please contact Cultures CIC on 01642 605868 or email tasteofafrica.teesside@gmail.com
